Liu Bolin - With Gaultier

Monday evening marked the opening of Liu Bolin’s latest work exhibited at the Eli Klein Fine Art Gallery located at 462 West Broadway in Soho. Bolin is a Chinese artist/photographer dubbed The Invisible Man due to his style of painting himself into the background of his photographs to the point of being almost nonexistent. Bolin was also the master behind the Lost In Fashion spread in Harpers Bazaar’s March 12 issue where he painted the likes of Angela Missoni, Alber Elbaz, Jean Paul Gaultier and Maris Grazia Chiuri & Pierpaolo Piccioli into fashion-inspired backgrounds. The party on Monday was hosted by Gaultier and Glenda Bailey to honor of the unveiling of the fashion photographs full scale. In addition to the four prints from Bazaar, the Eli Klein Gallery is also showcasing highlights from Bolin’s already momentous career. See if you can spot The Invisible Man in the below…
