Yves Saint Laurent Prêt-á-Porter Exhibit
On March 4th the Yves Saint Laurent Foundation in Paris held an opening party for their newest exhibit, running through July 17th, entitled La Révolution de la Mode. Unlike last year’s exhibition at the Petite Palais which highlighted Yves as a couturier, this current show spotlights his genius as a ready-to-wear designer in the 60s and 70s. The rich patterns and velvets were BEYOND, and I couldn’t get enough of the accessories – hats in particular – scattered about. Though the exhibit is fantastic regardless when you attend, opening night was extra special because of the YSL patrons who filled the room. Not only was Pierre Bergé in attendance, but so were countless staff members who have been with the company since the beginning – all decked out in vintage YSL, may I add. The night was certainly one to remember. Quick side note, a few days after visiting the exhibit I was vintage shopping with my mom and found an amazing YSL plaid sweater with black leather trim that would have fit perfectly in the show. It was to die for!
Here are a few pics from the night…
Further proving he does prints and velvet better than anyone else.
This is the receptionist at the foundation. She said Yves gifted her this jumpsuit 40 years ago… And it still fits!
Jewelry Heaven… Jewelry Heaven…
