Backstage With Roland Mouret

Here’s a quick piece from backstage at the Roland Mouret show in Paris. Not only do his dresses make women look how every dress should, but on top of being an amazing artist he is a great man. I always think the show in general, not just the clothing, is the best representation of the designer, and his was no exception. Roland showed at 10AM on Friday, March 4th, at the Grand Hotel. The crowd was relaxed and the first model stepped out only a few minutes after 10. It was refreshing to see people not take themselves so seriously and enjoy beautiful clothes. After the show, backstage was equally as stimulating. There was even a young French boy who brought sketches to show the designer. Unfortunately the camera didn’t clearly capture his work, but his design were very impressive. Roland was so sweet to say a few words about the collection. As you can tell, I was using a new camera to film and it made a odd box around his head, but in this case I think it frames his face quite well… no??
