Yves Saint Laurent Retrospective pt.1

Last March an incredible retrospective of Yves Saint Laurent’s career opened at the Petit Palais in Paris. I was interning at the Yves Saint Laurent foundation for two weeks at the time and was lucky enough to have my dates coincide with both fashion week AND the opening of the exhibit. The first night was an absolute madhouse of excited fashion lovers and even some intrigued designers – including Jeremy Scott and Olivier Theyskens – and for days after every time I drove by there was a line around the block of people waiting to get a glimpse of Yves’ genius up close. Not only were there over 300 couture looks but sketches and personal photographs. Additionally, one of my favorite features was the replica they did of Mr.Saint Laurent’s famous desk:

Unfortunately the exhibit closed in late August but if you didn’t happen to see it in person, here is some footage I took the day before the opening when we went for a preview during work (hence why the place is practically empty)… It was heaven!

Can’t wait to hear your comments… Part two coming soon!

  1. When we talk about such things we usually forgot many things about that and people should read this to get more information about it.
